We Need Your Help!

Every five years libraries are required to publish a Long Range Plan. We are currently in the process of drafting our plan for 2011-2016. We need YOUR help to make sure we're meeting your needs. After all, it is YOUR library. To give us your input take our online survey here or consider participating in a focus group and email librarylongrangeplan@watertown-ma.gov. We're currently looking for parents of young children. If you are a Watertown resident we'd love to hear from you!

How does your garden grow?

Have you ever taken a peak out the window in the Children's Room to see our beautiful garden? Did you even know it was there? Every spring, with the care of the fabulous Rebecca from the Technical Services department, we have a beautiful flower garden right outside our windows. Take a look now while they're still in bloom. If you miss it, don't worry, we have something in store for the summer. As part of our Summer Reading Program we'll be keeping our own vegetable garden and we'll need your help! Stay tuned for more info.

Review Our Stuff!

Have you read a book that you adore? Watched a movie that you despise? Then write a review and tell us about it. We'll post it on the blog.

One of our lovely patrons recently told us about a movie that she thought was terrible, so she wrote a review about it.

You can check it out here:

Birds!

Thanks for everyone who made it to our Library Science program today--it was so much fun! For those of you who missed it, we had a great time creating three different types of bird feeders to test out in the backyard. I'm pretty sure I saw some budding ornithologists. As promised, here are the links to the Great Backyard Bird Count:

Great Backyard Bird Count Kids' Page
Great Backyard Bird Count Main Page

This is a great opportunity for budding researcher
s and scientists! And, please keep me updated on how your bird feeders work out, I'd love to hear. If you want to share anything with your friends at the library, you can comment here or let me know and I'll post it on the blog.
